On the day of 29 April 2007, SepoyJuguluSabar who was part of a search and destroy operation in the forest of Kupwara district, Jammu &Kashmir was patrolling with his team.

As the search progressed two terrorists suddenly came out charging from thick undergrowth spraying bullets and throwing grenades. SepoyJuguluSabar was part of the team which came in the direct firing line of the terrorists. Sensing the grave danger to which own troops were exposed SepoyJuguluSabar asked his comrades to take cover while he engaged the terrorists single handedly. With utter disregard to his personal safety he started crawling towards the terrorists engaging them by repeatedly exposing himself. Unmindful of the grave danger to himself he closed in with the terrorists and charged through the hail of fire and shot one terrorist. The second terrorist started running and firing indiscriminately. Displaying exemplary courage under fire SepoyJuguluSabar out flanked the fleeing terrorist and killed him in a valiant fierce close combat thus ensuring the safety of his colleagues.

Sepoy Jugulu Sabar displayed exceptional gallantry, selflessness devotion and unparallel camaraderie with utter disregard to personal safety in the face of terrorist fire, hence he was awarded by SHAURYA CHAKRA.
