Javaid Ahmad Dar was a son of late Constable Gulam–Mohi-Ud-Din. Constable Gulam-Mohi-Ud-Din attained martyrdom in the line of duty on 09th October 1999. Even after the loss of his father, Javaid joined Jammu and Kashmir Police as constable to serve the Nation.

Javaid Ahmad was abducted from a local medical shop in Shopian on 05 July 2018 (Thursday) evening. The terrorists came in a Santro car and abducted the constable. A massive hunt had launched to trace them. He was on his way to a chemist to buy medicines for his mother as she was supposed to head for Hajj, when terrorists abducted him. He was shot in the head. He was found dead by the roadside at Sehpora in the neighboring Kulgam district. He was a personal security officer for former superintendent of police Shalinder Mishra. Dar’s bullet-ridden body was laid to rest with state honors in Shopian on Friday morning. The Jammu Republic Party has vowed to avenge the death of Javid Ahmad Dar.

Javaid had an important role to play in the killing of dreaded terrorist Waseem Malla of Hizbul in April 2016. Malla was an associate of Burhan Wani and his killing was a major breakthrough for forces. Javid was part of all Counter-terror Operations as he was attached with Shopian SSP Shailendra Mishra for last 7 postings.
