Maj Bhanu Pratap Singh, SM (Posthumous) – ‘Papa Jaldi Aajana’
Major Bhanu Pratap Singh was a braveheart from Churu district in Rajasthan. The inspiration to serve the society and the country was instilled in Bhanu Pratap from a very young age since his father RS Rathore Singh who was serving as the Additional Superintendent Police of Bharatpur in Rajasthan. But his mother, Mrs Padma Kanwar was not ready to accept the fact that his son would join defense services and go on borders.
Major Bhanu Pratap Singh was determined to serve the nation and cleared the Combined Defence Services (CDS) thrice before he got himself enlisted in 2001. After her marriage, he became a loving father of little Rudra Pratap Singh and a caring husband of Sarika. Rudra was three years old when one fine day his father suddenly indulged into a battle and his fate twisted forever. Bhanu Pratap Singh was leading a joint search patrol of army and Special Operations Group of the J&K police to flush out a group of alleged LeT militants which resulted in the fatagun battle. In the battle, he embraced martyrdom in a gun battle with militants in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. He breathed his last breath after taking multiple bullet-hits in a pre-dawn cordon and search operation in Kunda area of Thana Mandi Tehsil.
He was awarded SM posthumously by the government but his parents, wife and son lives in Shyam Nagar, Jaipur and still waiting for him to return, though they know the fact that he will never return.
